colour experimental and shading stage 1

Here's an unfinished colouring of the cover image. 

was just eager to see what it would look like with some colour basically. i then felt as though it needed more

shading.

 

here's the beggining of my attempts to shade the image. i wanted to fill the page with as much black as possible, in some cases to hide mistakes! though now i feel like this is a bit too much. but i'll press on with this until i have a final colour image.

hopefully i'll upload a finished B/W image tomorrow.
